How it started & How it's Going
Welcome to The Well, a vibrant community of faith with a rich and inspiring journey. Founded by Pastor Danny Lybarger, The Well officially began its worship services on December 5th, 2021, following months of heartfelt preparations and gatherings by our dedicated launch team from August to November.
Our mission is clear: The Well exists to raise up new generations of inclusive followers of Jesus.
Our origin story traces back to Good News Brewing in Defiance, MO, where we took our first steps. We then celebrated Easter in 2023 in Cottleville and embraced the virtual world in May 2023, connecting with worshipping across the globe online, and across St. Charles county in our homes. In June 2023, we've found a long-term home of Emmanuel UCC in Weldon Spring, where we gather every Sunday at 9 am for worship inside the annex building.
So, what sets us apart from every other church? Though we wish it didn't make us unique, we proudly embrace God's call for inclusivity, warmly welcoming and involving all members of the LGBTQ+ community in every aspect of our church life, including leadership roles. Our church mantra reflect our commitment to unity, with the belief that "your seat at the table cannot cost someone else theirs."
Whether you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, a young adult, a family, a republican, a democrat or whatever else - when we say all are welcome, we truly mean it.
