An Upside Down Lent

Lent is our season of preparation heading into Easter. That being said, it's likely one of most misunderstood times in the life of the church. This year at The Well our hope is to flip lent & Easter upside down in pursuit of unpacking the true meaning of the cross.

ASH WEDNESDAY

Ash Wednesday kicks off the Lenten season. On Ash Wednesday, we mark our mortality, and begin an amazing walk toward the overwhelming grace awaiting us at the cross.

The Well will be hosting Ashes-To-Go in two locations across the 636. You can find Ashes-To-Go in these places between 8am and 12pm:

Upshot Coffee (Cottleville)

Alpha & Omega Roasting Company (O'Fallon)

Holy Thursday

Holy Thursday (often referred to as Maundy Thursday) is the first day marking our march towards Easter during Holy Week. The Well plans to celebrate Holy Thursday with a shared meal at Good News Brewing Company in Defiance, beginning at 6pm. Bring yourself, a friend, or the whole family. All are welcomed to join as as we kick off Holy Week together in style!

Good Friday

Good Friday proclaims God's purpose of loving and redeeming the world even in the face of human rejection and cruelty through the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a day that is holy and makes us holy because God was drawing the world to God's self in Christ.

The Well will be spending our Good Friday together for an all online worship experience.

#Easter636

Easter is the greatest moment in Christian history. We celebrate that death, sin, and division can never win, and that Jesus defeated it all on our behalf through his death and resurrection. This Easter at The Well will be unlike anything you've ever experienced before!

Stay stay tuned for more information to come!
